Olavo Amaral

Olavo Amaral graduated as a medical doctor (2002) and a PhD in Biochemistry (2007) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He spent 6 months with the Neuropharmacology and Pain research group in 2008, working primarily on adenosine receptor oligomerization. He is currently a professor at the Institute of Medical at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he leads a research group studying the neurobiology of memory, the interactions between neuroscience and psychiatric nosology, and issues concerning the reproducibility of published science. He is also a fiction writer and the authors of two short story volumes.
