Maricel Gómez-Soler

Maricel Gómez-Soler graduated in Experimental Biology at Autonomous Metropolitan University-Iztapalapa in Mexico D.F (2008). She obtained her Master’s degree in Neurosciences at the Universitat de Barcelona (2010), when she joined our lab. In 2011 she obtained a pre-doctoral fellowship (FPU) from the Spanish Government to continue with her work under the supervision of Dr. Francisco Ciruela and Dr. Víctor Fernández-Dueñas. In 2014, she held a fellowship at the Institut de Genómique Fonctionnelle (Montpellier, France), where she worked under the supervision of Dr. Thierry Durroux for 3 months. She defended her thesis entitled "PLASTICIDAD MOLECULAR DEL OLIGÓMERO INTEGRADO POR EL RECEPTOR A2A DE ADENOSINA Y D2 DE DOPAMINA: ESTUDIO DE LA FUNCIONALIDAD SELECTIVA Y LA NEUROPROTECCIÓN COMO POSIBLES ESTRATEGIAS TERAPÉUTICAS PARA LA ENFERMEDAD DE PARKINSON" the 5/2/2016. Currently, she is working in the project “Adenosine receptors as new targets for the treatment of atrial fibrillation: Biomarker, Risk-Stratification and Therapy.”
