Directory of Spanish Campuses of International Excellence (CEIs)

On November 8th took place in the Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus' administration building (La Masia) the first meeting between the executive heads of the Spanish International Excellence Campuses (CEIs) in the agri-food sector with the object to set the organizational basis of a future “RED de Campus de Excelencia Internacional Agroalimentarios” (Agri-food Campuses of International Excellence NET)

The executive of Triptolemos Foundation proposed, during the last encounter on September 5th, and at the instance of the University of Barcelona (member of this foundation), to invite all the Campuses of International Excellence (CEI) holding priority activities in the food sector to get together to analyze the suitability to establish a net of agri-food CEIs.

The responsibles for these 18 campuses with activity in the large human nutrition and food sectors presented their allegations to the proposal for the creation of a net within the framework of the Triptolemos Foundation, chaired by Federico Mayor Zaragoza.

The present proposal of Triptolemos Foundation's executive is to invite the coordinator universities of agri-food campuses to request their integration into this “RED de CEIs Agroalimentarios”, which is due to be approved and set in the next meeting of the Triptolemos Foundation's Board of Trustees in February 2013.

Triptolemos Foundation, organizer of the meeting along with Food and Nutrition Torribera Campus' management, which is part of the Campus of International Excellence Health Universitat de Barcelona Campus (HUBc), has as one of its main objectives to get the maximum efficiency of the Agri-food Spanish System by means of the coordination and strategic articulation around 4 axis (availability, economy, politics and knowledge-culture) of all the actors and institutions within the Agri-Food Knowledge Triangle (education, research and innovation).
