Arianni Batista Rodríguez has an MA in Visual and Documentary Anthropology from the Latin American Institute of Social Science (FLACSO-Ecuador, 2013), and a BA in Art History from the University of Oriente (Cuba, 2007). In 2014, she participated as a researcher in the project, "Trade, Popular Cultural, and Daily Life in Quito," directed by Dr. Eduardo Kingman at FLACSO-Ecuador. From 2014 to 2015, she received a grant from the Program of Studies on Poverty, CLACSO-Argentina, where she led the published research project, "To Be or Not to Be an 'Artisan Artist': Production Networks in the Cuban Artisan Market." Her current proposal for doctoral research, under the direction of Dr. Arturo Rodríguez Morató, focuses on the incidence of cultural politics in the field of Cuban handicrafts during the period of the Revolution.

From 2013 to 2014, she was Assistant Professor at the Catholic Pontifical University of Ecuador (PUCE), and from 2014 to 2017 she was Assistant-Associate Professor at the University of the Americas (UDLA-Quito). In the latter university, she co-directed the research project, "Studies on the Reception and Perception of Youth in Cinematography," in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid. The classes she taught at both universities include: Art History, Theory of Art, Semiotics of the Image, Cultural Anthropology, and Contemporary Thought. She is currently a member of LASA (Latin American Studies Association).
