Fernán del Val (Madrid, 1982) is professor in the Department of Sociology I in Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Phd. in Sociology from Universidad Complutense (2014), he was awarded by the SGAE Foundation with his thesis project “Rockeros insurgentes, modernos complacientes: juventud, rock y política en España (1975-1985)”. He has been postdoctoral researcher at Universidade do Porto (Portugal), professor of sociology of music at Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio and of sociology of consume at the Universidad de Valladolid. He has published various articles and books on music, politics, media and youth in Spain. He has been a visiting researcher at Newcastle University, Universidad Pompeu Fabra y Universidad de Barcelona.
