Felipe Maia
Felipe Maia is a visiting researcher at the University of Barcelona, with a grant from CNPq - Brazil, and a professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil). He is a sociologist with a Masters and PhD in Sociology (IESP - UERJ, 2014). He currently coordinates the Sociological Theory Research Committee of the Brazilian Society of Sociology. He works in the areas of social theory, historical sociology and the sociology of knowledge and intellectuals. His current research project focuses on the relationship between critique and crisis, as well as the constitution of forms of social reflexivity on crises, seeking to develop a theoretical model that helps to understand the production of crisis diagnoses in the contemporary world. He is a member and one of the coordinators of the ‘Metamorphoses of Sociology’ research group (CNPq - Brazil).
