Jordi Alomar holds degrees on Musicology (BMus, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2011), violin performance (BMus, Liceu 2007) and Arts Management (Mphil, Universitat de Barcelona 2013). He worked as an associate teacher in Balearic Islands Conservatory in musicology and education departments from 2009 to 2012, and as a visiting teacher in Balearic Islands University, focusing in twentieth century musical practices and trends. As an arts manager he worked as director of one of the oldest contemporary music festivals in Spain, the Encontre Internacional de Compositors festival, from 2009 to 2012. In 2011 he started working as a regular writer in Revista Musical Catalana. At present he works as a freelance teacher and cultural manager. 

Since 2021 he has been the Director of Museu de la Música of Barcelona and the Robert Gehard Center.
