Victoria Sánchez Belando is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Sociology of the University of Barcelona in the framework of the project UNCHARTED: Understanding, Capturing and Fostering the Societal Value of Culture (H2020, European Commission 2020-2024).  She holds a PhD in Sociology and a Master in Cultural Management. Her research takes place at the intersection of cultural sociology, urban sociology and political and economic sociology. Her fields of expertise include urban governance and social innovation, citizen participation and self-management, cultural policies and urban cultural regeneration. She has participated in national and international research projects. Currently, she is involved in the project ECOSOCITIES - Urban Recovery Agendas and Citizenship Practices in the face of the Ecosocial Crisis: Discourses and initiatives (Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation 2022-2025). Her contributions have been published by Routledge, EURE- Revista Latinoamericana de Estudios Urbano Regionales and City, Culture and Society (Elsevier), among other specialized publishing houses and journals. She has been visiting researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto and visiting professor at the Department of Political Science and Communication of the University of Salerno. She is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona where she teaches in the Sociology Degree and in the Masters in Sociology and Cultural Management.
