Munich

Main façade of the Bavarian National Library in Munich, the work of the German Romantic architect Friedrich von Gärtner (1831).

In 1855, accompanied by Claudi Lorenzale, Rogent went on a trip to Germany which had a crucial influence on his architectural work. Particularly in Munich, he discovered German Romantic architecture at first hand, especially the so-called Rundbogenstil —the round-arch style— which he would adopt in many of his works, such as the University of Barcelona.
