Openings

In the works of Rogent the openings - windows and doors - present a very regular arrangement, with small variations that are associated to the different types of buildings:

  • Institutional or religious public buildings (universities, churches): balanced distribution between masses and voids (between walls and openings).
  • Civil public buildings (prisons): closed composition, with few openings.
  • Buildings intended for housing: uniformity is the rule.

In general, in public buildings where Rogent followed the Rundbogenstil style, he often used biforate windows, some with round arches, as in the University. According to Rogent, the arch defines Christian architecture and symbolizes the superiority of the spirit over the material.
