Left side of the Eixample
View of the left side of the Eixample in 1905.
After demolition of the walls (1854-1856), an extension to the city was organized between the historic centre and the villages of the plain. In time, this Eixample would welcome facilities for various uses, such as the University and the new Conciliar Seminary, or family industries like the Batlló factory.
In the image you can see the Employment Training College and the old Batlló Factory chimney, on the left, and the Sant Pere Màrtir hill, in the background.
