Barcelona College of Surgery
College of Surgery: dissection room. It is now the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Medicine, in Carrer del Carme, next to the Santa Creu Hospital site.
Once the University had been re-established in Barcelona in 1841, the Convent of Carme housed the Theology, Canon Law and Law departments and, later, the Faculty of Pharmacy. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Medicine was established in the Royal College of Surgery building, which had been set up in 1760 beside Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital, to provide official courses related to health.
