Delving into Elias Rogent

Virtual exhibition Rogent: ciutat i arquitectura. L'edifici del Seminari Conciliar [Elias Rogent: city and architecture. The building of the Conciliar Seminary].

On March 8, 2003, the opening of the exhibition "The Conciliar Seminary and Elias Rogent, architect" took place to celebrate the reform and opening of the gardens of the Conciliar Seminary. The exhibition, curated by Pilar Mateo, was organized by the Institut Municipal del Paisatge Urbà i la Qualitat de Vida of the Barcelona City Council, in collaboration with the Conciliar Seminary.

The exhibition, the first to take place in Barcelona on Rogent and the Seminary, represented a unique opportunity to deepen the study of this architect, a key figure in the architecture and culture of 19th century Barcelona. A few years later and with the opportunity offered by the new digital formats, we have relaunched that first initiative in a free online access project with the purpose of continuing to reclaim the figure and contribution of Elias Rogent to the appearance of the city of Barcelona.
