Research stays
The Phonetics Laboratory of the University of Barcelona has the honour of regularly welcoming visiting scholars and professors. If you want to have a research stay at the Phonetics Laboratory, you can send us an e-mail introducing yourself. It is important to follow the instructions on this page and that, once your stay has been approved, do not forget to also fill out the form below it.
If you are staying for a long period, you may want to get your own UB ID card and e-mail in order to get access to the internet (especially if you do not have internet by EduRoam in your institution), the library services and many other advantages. You can find general information for non UE visitors and UE visitors about becoming a UB member on the institutional webpage: International researchers and teaching staff. You'll also find information about housing services offered by the university.
As an academic visitor within the Phonetics Laboratory, you can expect that normally we will provide you with:
- full access to library resources including e-resources
- full access to IT facilities, using a login and password
- a research mentor (your host academic) who will act as your main point of contact for planning your visit and throughout your time with us and whom you can expect to see regularly for discussion
- access to research activities such as attendance at research seminars and other research training
In turn we will expect you to:
- abide by the Laboratory’s procedures, especially those to do with ethical research conduct, copyright, and the appropriate use of the facilities
- contribute positively to the research culture and life of the Laboratory and any research group or centre to which you are attached during your visit (Examples of such a positive contribution that past visiting scholars have offered are: research seminars, a PhD class, media and knowledge exchange work, and articles for journals.)
- acknowledge our Laboratory appropriately in any publications which arise from the period of your visit to us:
