On November 21st, 2023, Bernat Mallén defended his doctoral thesis titled "Empirical Essays on Economics and Language” supervised by Dr. Antonio Di Paolo and Dr. Raul Ramos.

The doctoral committee was composed of Dr. Juan Prieto Rodríguez (Universidad de Oviedo), Dr. Ainoa Aparicio Fenoll (University of Turin) and Dr. Albert Banal Estañol (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) who decided to grade the PhD thesis with an “Excellent” mark with the mention of Cum Laude.
