Marta SEGARRA is directrice de recherche in the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique-CNRS, senior lecturer in Gender Studies at the Universitat de Barcelona, and cofounder and director of the Centre Dona i Literatura (1994-2013) and the UNESCO Chair Women, Development, and Cultures at the Universitat de Barcelona (2004-2015). She is also deputy director of the Laboratoire d'études de genre et de sexualité-LEGS (CNRS, U. Paris 8, U. Paris Nanterre), member of the CNRS national committee and researcher in ADHUC—Research Center for Theory, Gender, Sexuality. She has published and lectured widely on women writers and on the field of Gender and Sexuality Studies. She directs the collection Mujeres y Culturas, published by Icaria Editorial, and she belongs to the scientific committee of different journals, such as Lectora or Oxford Literary Review. She was the director of Expressions maghrébines (2005-2014). She received an Icrea Acadèmia Award in 2009.
