Marga Castells Criballés

Margarita CASTELLS CRIBALLÉS is a researcher at ADHUC-Theory, Gender, Sexuality Research Centre and lecturer in Arabic language and literature at the University of Barcelona. Her research has been devoted to the study of medieval and modern translations of the Qur'an in Europe and of Arabic language and literature, a field in which she is particularly interested in the production of women. She is the author of the Diccionari Àrab-Català (Enciclopèdia Catalana 2007) and a literary translator, from Arabic, French and English into Catalan and Spanish, a field in which she has won several awards. From Arabic, she has translated great classics such as Les mil i una nits or the Llibre dels avars by Jàhiz de Basra, as well as many works of contemporary literature, both prose and poetry.
