PI of the Research Project Experiences of women and health professionals in perinatal loss and abortion: vulnerability, obstetric violence, and decision-making (VULVIDE)
Josefina GOBERNA TRICAS is a university professor at the University School of Nursing at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and researcher of ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere i Sexualitat. She holds a degree in Nursing, she is a sociologist and holds a PhD in Philosophy. She participates in the master and PhD programs in Nursing and Health and Citizenship and Human Rights. She chairs the Nursing PhD Commission and is a member of the Steering Committee at the Doctoral School. She has published numerous articles in scientific journals and several book chapters on ethical and social issues related to women’s health. She is currently the lead investigator in the Project “Prevention and detection of gender violence during pregnancy: from male violence to obstetric violence” and participates in the European Project “Building Intrapartum Research Through Health- an interdisciplinary whole system approach to understanding and contextualising physiological labour and birth (BIRTH)". In 2010 she was awarded the Research in Bioethics Prize by the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation. She co-directed Revista Matronas Profesión between 2009 and 2015, and she is currently the director of MUSAS: revista de investigación en mujer, salud y sociedad as well as a publishing editor in the journals Enfermería Clínica and Midwifery.
