The Department of Medieval History, Palaeography and Diplomatics of the University of Barcelona promotes and coordinates education and research on medieval cultures at the Faculty of Geography and History.
The members of the department are involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching: BA in History, BA in Archaeology, Master's degree in Medieval Cultures, Master's degree in Archaeology, Master's degree in History and Culture of Diet, Master's degree in Modern History, and Master in Secondary Education. They are also involved in the supervision of students in the Doctoral programmes in Medieval Cultures and Society and Culture.
The department is an active community and collaborates with a number of national and international universities and research centres. Outreach and engagement activities are also given a high priority.
The department is situated on the first floor of the Faculty of Geography and History, at the Raval Campus, and has facilities on the basement and the first floor including the Archaeology Lab (S036), faculty offices (1035 to 1045, and 1047 to 1065) and an office for the research groups (1005).
