The collections that we have put together to organize the images of the Historic Database are the following:
- Old collections, previous to the creation of the Department of Geography
- Salvador Llobet Collection
- Collections from exchanges with Departments of Geography in other universities
- Collections of professors of the Geography Department of the University of Barcelona
- Collections from publications:Geography books, Atlas, magazines, etc.
- Collections from students and other collaborator’s donations.
Until now the following collections have been published in “Dipòsit Digital”
The first published collections have been the “Salvador Llobet Collection” and the “Lantern Slides Collection”. The former pays tribute to our Physical Geography teacher and driving force behind the maintenance of an images database, and the later comprises the oldest photographs found in the database.
The last published collections are from three professors of Department of Geography –R.Majoral, Ll.Casassas, H.Capel-, with pictures taken more than 40th years ago and donated to the Historic Images Database. At present we prepare the publication of other collections from exchanges with Departments of Geography in other universities.
