In Mediterranean Nutrition & Gastronomy, we explore the foundational nutritional practices and principles of traditional Mediterranean diets, along with the modern understanding of the Mediterranean diet. We examine its health benefits and how it has evolved in today’s rapidly changing culinary landscape, from the mid-20th century to the present. Through an experiential learning approach, which includes activities like olive oil tastings and visits to local markets, we delve deeply into Mediterranean food culture and its impact on health and cuisine.
