Simone Marchesi

I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Mathematics (2006) and Master Degree in Mathematics (2008) at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy). I obtained my PhD Degree in Mathematics in 2012 at the Università degli Studi di Milano joint with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain), oriented by Prof. Enrique Arrondo Esteban and Prof. Antonio Lanteri. I defended the thesis "Jumping spaces in Steiner bundles".

In 2012 I obtained a post-doctoral grant from Fapesp, under the supervision of Prof. Marcos Jardim, and I moved to the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. In June 2014, I started a position of "Professor Doutor" in the Mathematics Institute of the Universidade Estadual de Campinsas.

Since september of 2019, I am a Professor Agregat at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the Universitat de Barcelona.

My research focuses on the study and classification of sheaves over projective varieties.
