10-04-2018
It is a pioneer in the combination of different aspects: the estimation of the impact of cruise ship activity, the presentation of these disaggregated impacts at the sectoral level, using a rigorous methodology and carrying out extensive fieldwork. It is shown that all sectors, not just traditional sectors related to tourism, benefit from cruise tourism. In order to test and apply our methodology, the analysis focuses on the Port of Barcelona, which has become the main cruise ship in the Mediterranean area.
The members of AQR-Lab Esther Vayá, José R. Garcia, Joaquín Morillo, Javier Romaní and Jordi Suriñach formed the research team.
