Growth is forecast at 6.3%, higher than in 2021, but warns of the risk of inflation

The Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona and the Laboratory of Applied Economics (AQR-Lab) of the University of Barcelona present the situation report for the first quarter of 2022.
The Chamber and AQR-Lab estimate that the GDP growth rate will grow by 0.9% in the fourth quarter of 2021, moderating the rate of growth of 1.3% in the third quarter, and maintain around this figure in the first quarter of 2022. In this sense, in year-on-year terms, the estimated growth would be 5.4% in the fourth quarter of 2021 and 6.3% in the first quarter of 2022.
The macroeconomic forecast for Catalonia in 2021-2022 points to a gradual recovery that would allow the level of pre-crisis GDP to recover at the end of this year.
