AQR-Lab (UB) analises the economic impact of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona - El Prat Airport

This study, in which the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce has collaborated, has pursued a double objective: first, to estimate the economic impact that the JT Barcelona-El Prat Airport has on the Catalan economy but also, by extension, on the entire Spanish economy; and, second, to measure how said economic impact could increase if the investments foreseen in the AENA Master Plan for said airport were carried out (and which implies the possibility of increasing passenger capacity to 72 million) and the development of the Airport City (and that means freeing up new spaces at the airport to create new economic activity).
