Joana Masó (ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) has been awarded again, this time with the ACCA Award (Associació Catalana de Crítica d'Art) in the category of research for her book Tosquelles. Curar les institucions (Arcàdia, 2021). The jury highlights that she configures an extraordinary kaleidoscope of the Catalan psychiatrist Francesc Tosquelles and from the first half of the 20th century, weaving a careful and unique exploration of the artistic movements, the psychiatric practice and the political thoughts that a great part of these processes persecuted. The book received the Ciutat de Barcelona Award last February, 2022.
The research that has made the book possible, "Francesc Tosquelles's Forgotten Legacy", began in 2018 within the framework of ADHUC, thanks to funding from the Fundació Privada Mir-Puig. Among the results of the project there is an exhibition that will open at the CCCB on April 8, 2022, and two more books.
