María José González Madrid and Joana Masó, ACCA Awards finalists
María José González Madrid and Joana Masó, researchers at ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona, are finalists in the 38th edition of the Premis ACCA, of the Associació Catalana de Crítics d'Art, in the category of research.
María José González Madrid has curated, with M. Lluïsa Faxedas Brujats (Universitat de Girona), the exhibition Celso Lagar i Hortense Bégué. Els anys catalans (1915-1918), which can be visited at the Museu d'Art de Girona. This exhibition presents for the first time the life and work of the French sculptress Hortense Bégué (1890-1957), which was documented by María José González, and reviews the work of her husband, the painter Celso Lagar (1891-1966), on which M. Lluïsa Faxedas carried out her research.
Joana Masó is the author of the book Francesc Tosquelles. Curar les institucions (Arcadia, 2021). This publication, which was also awarded the Premis Ciutat de Barcelona, is one of the results of the research project El llegat oblidat de Francesc Tosquelles, financed by the Fundación Privada MIR-PUIG. This project has also had other relevant results, such as: an exhibition by Joana Masó and Carles Guerra, which will soon be on view at the CCCB; the exhibition catalogue; and a documentary directed by Mireia Sallarès.
