Marta Segarra (LEGS-CNRS and ADHUC-Universitat de Barcelona) has edited Lettres de fuite. Séminaire 2001-2004 (Gallimard, 2020), by Hélène Cixous. This book collects part of Cixous's theoretical work developed in her annual seminars, characterized by her association between literature and thought. This volume gathers three years of seminars, from the start of the 2001 academic year (right after the 9/11 which would change our lives and the world as we know it) until June 2004 (the same year Jacques Derrida had his last public dialogue with Cixous after years of conversation). This seminar grants desire, love and sexuality a central space as universal topics while keeping an eye on what is taking place on the world stage. This volume is therefore thematically coherent around death, loss and war, but also love, beauty and life.
