Arturo CORUJO is a Doctoral Researcher at ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat. Graduated with honors in English Studies from Universidad de La Laguna (2016), with an MA in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities from Universitat de Barcelona (2018), he has specialized in Gender Studies, Queer Theory, and the Literature of the American Renaissance, with specific focus on the sea novels by Herman Melville (1819-1891). His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Dr. Rodrigo Andrés (UB) and Dr. Isabel González (ULL), aims to find hermeneutic keys that help us re-interpret White-Jacket (1850) as a constitutive text in Melville's political, philosophical, and literary project, in dialogue with contemporary debates on body, time, and space, combined with the latest research on Melville Studies, Queer Phenomenology, and Thing Theory.
