Helena González Fernández and Elena Losada, researchers with the Centre Dona i Literatura, together with Alicia Ramos González of the research group CuRe, have edited the volume Lo que callan los corpus, lo que afirman los cuerpos (ArCiBel, 2013). This book analyzes the symbolic violence exerted on and by women in literature, from the Middle Ages to contemporary times. By focusing on silence, hiding, lockup, vulnerability or grotesque deformations of reality, the editors aim to offer different readings which overcome existing inertias and place the body in the foreground, in the works of women writers such as Leonora de la Genga, Enriqueta Caracciolo, Rosalía de Castro, Florbela Espanca, Débora Barón, Zoé Valdés and Elsa Plaza. Along with the editors, Mercedes Arriaga Flórez, Daniele Cerrato, Carmen García Navarro, Silvina A. Míguez, Cláudia Pazos-Alonso and Mariola Pietrak have contributed to this volume.
