Clarisa Danaé Fonseca Azuara
Investigadora Juan de la Cierva / Juan de la Cierva Research Fellow
Danaé FONSECA is a Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a member of ADHUC-Research Center on Theory, Gender, Sexuality of the Universitat de Barcelona. She is part of the research group "Arab Ideologies and Cultural Expressions - IEXCUL" at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and was a postdoctoral researcher at The Palestinian Museum in Birzeit, Palestine. With a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a Master in Contemporary Arab and Islamic Studies and a PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, she conducts research at the intersection of art and gender, particularly in the history of contemporary Palestinian art and representations of the nation. She has also studied agency and participation of women in revolutionary contexts. Among her publications are: "Matria Palestina: imagined nation, feminized nation and art", chapter of the book Islam and dispossession (Ediciones de Oriente y del Mediterráneo, 2022) and "La feminidad patriótica palestina", published in the journal Kula: Antropología y Ciencias Sociales.
