The Centre Dona i Literatura has co-organized the international conference "Diálogos transatlánticos: mujeres escritoras / mujeres escritas", as part of the project "Las primeras escritoras y artistas profesionales: redes de mujeres y mitologías de progreso (Fondo crítico-documental: España-Estados Unidos)" funded by the Instituto Franklin. This symposium brings together different specialists in the fields of Spanish literature, Latin American literature, and literary theory and comparative literature, such as Carmen Simón Palmer (CSIC) and Manuel Asensi (Universitat de València), in order to approach the transnational relations between Spain and Latin America from a gender perspective. The aim is to explore the influences, transformations, and exchanges born out of the networks between writers and professionals in the art world, and to analyze the cultural mythologies derived from these exchanges. The symposium is coordinated by Isabel Clúa (Centre Dona i Literatura) and Beatriz Ferrús, Fernanda Bustamante, and Alba del Pozo of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Registration is free.
