Neus Otero, researcher at our Group MAiMA, participated this summer in the 2nd IAGC Conference, a joint conference of the Water-rock Interaction (WRI-17) and Applied Isotope Geochemistry (AIG-14) working groups of the International Association of Geochemistry (IAGC). The Conference, chaired by Noriyoshi Tsuchiya, took place in Sendai, Japan, from August 18th to 23rd, 2023. Neus gave a Keynote lecture in the Environmental and Isotope Forensics session, entitled “Multi-isotopic approach to trace landfill leachates: the case of Vall d’en Joan landfill”. She also contributed to the posters of the same session with the topic “Denitrification biostimulation using wine industry by-products”.
In the Ceremony of the formal Dinner, she was honored with the IAGC “Harmon Distinguished Service Award” for her service to the association and the geochemical community. She was also honored with the distinction of “Leader of Water- Rock Interaction” from the WRI working group for her contributions to both WRI and AIG working groups.
