Play different situations scale geological structures, facilitating the study of three-dimensional geological processes that determine the relief; understand their processes, check the different factors in order to determine if changes occur in the studies already documented, are main objectives of the new lab Analog Modeling Geomodels.
This installation pioneer in Catalan universities and Europe, is intended for use not only in terms of research but also for teaching.
The new space is located at the Faculty of Geology of the University of Barcelona (UB), and represent a new element of the Laboratory of Geological Processes Simulation (SIMGEO), driven by a joint unit of the UB Faculty of Geology and Institute of Earth Sciences Jaume Almera (ICTJA-CSIC).
