The Gaia mission is a project of the European Space Agency in order to map more than one billion stars with a degree of unprecedented accuracy. A team from the Department of Astronomy and Meteorology of the UB has been involved in both the development of the satellite, as in the processing of data that will be arriving throughout the five year mission.
