Emilia Castaño
Emilia Castaño is an associate professor in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Barcelona and at the University of New Haven, where she teaches History of the English language and Spanish as a foreign language respectively. In 2001 she graduated from the University of Malaga with a degree in Journalism and Communications and in 2008 she earned a second degree in English Philology and a Master’s degree in Lexis and Linguistic Communication from the University of Barcelona. She is currently preparing her dissertation on metaphor, conceptualization and discourse structure. Moreover, She is also a member of the GRELIC (Lexicology and Corpus Linguistics Research Group) and participates in the international project VESPA (Varieties of English for Specific Purposes dAtabase). Her research interests include brain and cognitive development, conceptualization, categorization, discourse structure and second language acquisition.
