Literatura, ética y globalización
Descripción general de la asignatura
En esta asignatura estudiamos el teatro producido en Gran Bretaña desde la última década del siglo XX hasta nuestros días. A través de la exploración detenida de una selección de obras teatrales, se invita al alumnado a considerar tanto las innovaciones formales/estéticas como las intervenciones culturales y políticas que se formulan y a leerlas a la luz de los acontecimientos que se han producido en la Gran Bretaña, en Europa y en el marco del proceso de globalización neoliberal en curso.
Se dedica la mayor atención posible al componente teatral o de puesta en escena, ya sea a través de proyecciones de (fragmentos de) versiones filmadas de las obras, fotografías de montajes concretos, lectura de reseñas o visitas al teatro para ver obras tanto de las dramaturgas, dramaturgos y dramaturgues seleccionadas como de otros autores/as contemporáneos.

Cuál es la línea de pensamiento
Examinaremos las obras seleccionadas a la luz de un abanico de perspectivas teóricas/críticas que incluyen el giro ético y la ética del cuidadi, los estudios de globalización, la precario(e)dad, la teoría de los afectos, los estudios queer, los estudios críticos antiracistas y la función del espectador/a/e. El objetivo global es determinar y describir hasta qué punto y de qué manera estas obras nos invitan, como público receptor, a transformar nuestra percepción y experiencia del mundo que nos rodea.
