UB Chairs and minor chairs

The UB aims to expand its instruments of collaboration beyond research agreements or contracts by introducing a different approach to interaction with society in the form of chairs and minor chairs.

What are UB chairs and minor chairs?

UB chairs and minor chairs are instruments that serve to establish long-term agreements between the University and one or more companies or public or private institutions, in one or more area of knowledge, for the purpose of organizing activities related to teaching, research, culture or any other topic that might be of mutual interest for the parties involved and that falls within the UB's competences and objectives.

How are they created?

Proposals for the creation of UB chairs and minor chairs can come from governmental bodies or from UB faculties, schools and departments. Teaching and research staff associated with any UB department may also submit a proposal.

Rules and regulations

To facilitate the creation and operation of these chairs and minor chairs, and based on the experience gained in recent years, in December 2017 the Governing Council of the University approved the specific regulations for the operation of chairs and minor chairs, which has made it possible to achieve more transparency and has fostered remarkable quantitative growth.
