Chair UB on Respiratory Health
The Chair on Respiratory Health is the fruit of a synergy between the University of Barcelona and the companies AZ, Chiesi and GSK to promote education and research in the field of respiratory health throughout life.

Recent projects led by UB researchers have demonstrated that our circumstances in the early stages of life (gestation, childhood and adolescence) can alter the development of the lungs (and other organs), facilitating the onset of respiratory and other diseases in adulthood. Among the objectives of this new Chair is to promote respiratory health from the start of life in order to ensure healthy ageing. The Chair will also undertake projects addressing the experience of patients with respiratory conditions in their various contacts with the health system (through the JANUS think tank of the College of Physicians of Barcelona, http://www.comb.cat/cast/salut_benestar/grupjanus/home.htm and the added value of respiratory health actions in the framework of value-based healthcare.
