Objective
Analysing the short- and long-run wage-price setting mechanisms in the European Union. Examining the main determinants of wages and its impact on employment with the aim of achieving a better understanding of the cyclical pattern and the absorption of nominal and real shocks which can be potential sources of divergence across EU member states. Quantifying the contribution of wage developments to the evolution of employment and unemployment.
Methodology
A comprehensive and critical review of the recent literature on empirical estimates of labour market performance. An empirical elaboration of wage determinants in the Euro area, the EU member states and the United States.
