Objective
To analyze the feasibility and economic impact, as well as the positive and negative effects, that the application of the “Real Decreto de Horarios Comerciales” could generate in the whole city and its stores.
To have a wider information to enable a relation between RD with a base of knowledge higher than the present one. Consequently, in this work, and by different ways, an analysis of the situation has been carried out.
Methodology
Exhaustive review of the existing literature on the effects of deregulation schedules at international and national level.
Review of the legislation on business schedules at national and international level, analyzing the evolution of the retailer business in different areas of Spain, where a extreme trade liberalization of schedules has been carried out, comparing with those that have not done it.
Simulation study to obtain an approximate information about the effects that could have, in the city of Barcelona, the liberalization of trading schedules to allow the opening of business on Sundays and holidays.
