Objective
To know the reasons (determinants) that explain the bad results in terms of abandon in some qualifications of UB. Disaggregation of the results depending on the students' typology (genre, of first course vs of other courses) and of teaching (vocational, with high and low rates of abandon, with great /few students, etc). To know students opinion about the quality of their teachings.
Methodology
13 teachings are selected of different characteristics. Consideration of administrative data, academic, family, work ... Analysis macro (a level of education) and micro (student level). To carry out a survey to the students of the UB on the qualitative factors that can influence in the abandon of the university studies and the academic performance. Use of tools statistician - econometrics (descriptive and lógit), determining the statistically significant variables that allow to explain the abandon and to quantify the impact of these explanatory variables. To do a statistical exploitation of the survey and interpretation of its results, differing between courses and between students of the first course versus students of the rest of courses.
