Objective Part 1. Analyze the effects of non-EU immigration on the labour market Andalusia Part 2. Make a discussion about possible future needs for public services by this group
Methodology Part 1: We study the evolution of migration in Andalusia and their provinces during the last decade, with special emphasis on the main characteristics of the immigrant population resident in that region. We study the most important aspects that characterize the labour market in Andalucía and their provinces, with the intention of determining, among other things, their specialization, as well as possible changes in the same experiment in recent year. Then, it is introduced the migratory phenomenon on the labour market from a perspective so much as macroeconomic, analyzing the volume of foreign immigrants who have joined to the mentioned market in the last years as well as its principal characteristics (in terms of his origin, age, sex, regime of affiliation or sector to which they join). Part 2: A review of different methodologies to approximate the evolution of migration on a time horizon of 5-10 years. Elaboration of demographic projections of non-EU foreign population in Andalusia from the definition of different scenarios. Specific study of the implications of future immigration on the Andalusian labour market trying to offer some policy recommendations. Analysis of the need for public services by the immigrant population by analyzing both the current situation in the supply of public services in Andalusia and the degree of utilization of such services by the immigrant community for four specific areas: Education, Health, Housing and social care Institutions.
