Alongside numerous living female artists, our era has seen the birth of so many posthumous ones. The feminist history of art has shown how some have been erased, but others have also decided to renounce the art world. Today, forty years after her death, comes to us the work of Juliette Roche (1884-1980), who criticized the avant-garde before withdrawing from it. As we discover her, we can now listen to her refusal of art that opens up a genealogy of refusers as much as of the refused.
