Andrea Villar del Valle

Andrea VILLAR DEL VALLE is a predoctoral researcher at ADHUC—Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat. She graduated in Translation and Interpreting at the Universidad de Salamanca (2017) and holds an MA in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities from the Universitat de Barcelona (2019). Her research focuses on postcolonial studies and borderland spaces. Her PhD dissertation, supervised by Dr. Mònica Rius Piniés (UB), revolves around Spanish colonialism in Morocco and its representation in various contemporary filmic and literary fictions, and explores the possibilities of disidentification with regard to hegemonic discourses.
