PhD candidate Marianna Protázio will read her doctoral thesis, directed by Helena González Fernández (ADHUC—Universitat de Barcelona), entitled “A voz heroica nas margens. Potencial político e terapêutico dos relatos de ‘si-mesma’". This thesis studies, from a gender studies and psychoanalysis perspective, the representations of Cassandra, Medea and Electra in classic texts (Aeschylus, Euripides...) and in contemporary texts (Christa Wolf, Chico Buarque, Yaël Farber...). Its objective is to map these heroines'  minority process of becoming and the ethical and political repercussions of the "herself" narrative to intervene in the community and to establish alliances: recovering their voice, the rage which interpellates, and the cathartic narrative of trauma.
