Katarzyna Paszkiewicz (ADHUC—Universitat de les Illes Balears) has published the volume Genre, Authorship and Contemporary Women Filmmakers at Edinburgh University Press. Through the work of women filmmakers such as Kathryn Bigelow, Sofia Coppola, Nancy Meyers o Kelly Riechardt, among others, this publication analyses the contribution of contemporary women filmmakers from the United States to genre cinema, and questions the relationship between authorship and cinematographic genre, the border between commercial and independent cinema, and authorial subversion in cinema and popular culture.
