The dossier "Représentation et non-représentation des Roms en Espagne et en France", coordinated by Éric Fassin (LEGS-Université Paris 8) and Marta Segarra (ADHUC-LEGS, CNRS) has been published in the journal Sociétés & Représentations (Éditions de la Sorbonne). This new publication discusses how Roma populations are subject both to an excess and a lack of representation in France and in Spain. These (non-)representations - political, artistic and in the media - of the Roms in France and the Gitanxs in Spain are collected both in the content and in the writing of the articles. The dossier is a result of the project Noves visions de la comunitat / Noves identitats gitanes, híbrides i sexualitzades (FFI2014-53047-R, MINECO, PI Rodrigo Andrés), and it aims to show what is shown or hidden, displayed or erased, and above all, to give voice to the subjects it speaks about.
