Area and Maria Soinha, two new additions to the A Saia digital newspaper library

Helena Gonzalez Fernandez (ADHUC-Univesitat de Barcelona) is the coeditor, with Maríam Mariño Costales (Consello da Cultura Galega), of the volumes Maria Soinha. Frente feminista de Ferrol (1996) and Area. Revista das Mulheres Nacionalistas Galegas (1987-1993), published by A Saia. Publicacións periódicas feministas. These journals aim to promote nationalist feminism and to favor the participation of the women in the movement. The issues debate topics such as women's rights and lives, sexuality, work environments, independence, pacifism, emigration and development. They denounce the different mechanisms of misogynist regulation of patriarchy, which include invisibilisation, capitalist reification, stigmatization of women, exotization and colonization of the female body as a metaphor for the nation, war crimes and reproductive control.
