Irina Cruz Pereira

Irina Cruz Pereira is a PhD candidate at ADHUC–Research Center for Theory, Gender, Sexuality. Graduated in Film and Television at the Universitat Ramon Llull and with a MA in Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities at the University of Barcelona, she focuses her research on gender studies in the field of popular culture and, in particular, film studies. Her doctoral thesis, supervised by Dr. Katarzyna Paszkiewicz and Dr. Rodrigo Andrés, explores the evolution of representations of heroines in contemporary action cinema and its relation to the various authorial positions that women occupy in Hollywood’s film industry.
